Old things made NEW . . .

I just got a treadle sewing machine.

I'm so excited I can't stand it.

Because the Singer Company keeps good records, I know it was made in 1910 in New Jersey and/or Canada or with Canadian made parts. It came with all the original attachments but no manual. I found the manual on line for free.

Can't wait to see how my first piece turns out! But I have to practice treadling first. You have to be consistent like the spinning wheel or you will go backwards!

How cool! I have a childhood memory of my Aunt sewing on one of those and her house smelled like Roman Meal Bread as though she baked it!
