Lady Lydia posted a wonderful article on contentment. I thoroughly enjoyed it and agree.
There is so much that we allow into our lives that steals what God wants for us.
While I was sleeping the other night the Lord woke me and dropped one word into my thoughts.
I thought about it. I had in my head what I thought was the definition of the word; being satisfied and kind of letting things go on around you. I looked it up.
Complacency is being self-satisfied while being unaware of the actual dangers or deficiencies around you.
That is scary.
Complacency and contentment both deal with satisfaction. They could feel and act very similarly.
Ph'p:4:11: Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.
The difference is the danger aspect. We are warned to be watchful and prepared. Here are just a few examples:
M'r:14:38: Watch ye and pray, lest ye enter into temptation. The spirit truly is ready, but the flesh is weak.
Re:3:2: Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God.
Re:3:3: Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.
If we become complacent in our contentment, we WILL fall into temptation and we WILL miss the coming of the LORD.
We must understand the subtle differences between what the DEVIL is offering and what the LORD requires.
